Turning Terrific Twelve!

Hi guys! I have crossed yet another milestone!

Today, I'm turning twelve!

From the time I was in my mother's womb till this very moment, these twelve years have been absolutely exciting and adventurous.

The experiences I've had have taught me life's greatest lessons that will always be in my pocket throughout my journey.

Turning twelve is often viewed as one of the biggest milestones in a person's life (stepping into tweenhood and much closer to teenage) as it is the last birthday one celebrates as a child and also the first one feeling like a tiny adult!

Though I like thinking and planning ahead like an adult would, I still feel, learn and create with the heart of a nine-year-old perhaps. The innocence and creativity of a kid is always greater than the arrogant know-it-all attitude of a teen or adult.

I definitely do feel much more matured by thought and response today. I have evolved as a person.

Hitting twelve, I suddenly feel so grown up (almost like an adult!) and responsible of myself. I have developed (work in progress 😉) my sense of style and my own choices and opinions.

This year, my parents could not be with me on my big day due to medical issues :(

I did miss them a lot but in the process, I also learnt to deal with separation and self-relied. I learnt to make rational decisions with more maturity. I feel incomplete though. There's a lot more to learn.

I'm really curious about what this year is going to bring me. This year is definitely going to teach and expose me more and by the end of the year, I'd be a year more mature than what I am right now.

There's a lot more ahead.

I AM A TWEEN TODAY !

  3. Manasa,

It's great to see your thought filled with responsibilities which you'd adorned from the journey of your first breadth to till-now... Just wishing you to taste the liveliness, playfulness, that would be profoundly splashing at this age relentlessly which would be a longing and relishing for many of us. Live this day, play, study and enjoy to the core...evidently, transformations between the different life's stages and its related responsibilities are nature's call. Well, let the nature to take those care very well as it knows what and how to prescribe at times and mainly, as wished by your dear ones... Dora ki Jai go... :)

    1. Quite true uncle..all I want to do at this age is to cherish and live the moment, for you never know when we'll find ourselves in a completely different scenario and priority list years later, which will fly before we know.

Thank you!

Throughout almost two years of Fledgling, you might have read about several people and places. This is my story. Since childhood, I have always been an ambitious child who yearned and burned with the passion to create an identity for myself. I was a sensitive child too, often bullied for my complexion. Though academic life was always a breeze, my social life has always struggled for stability and it still does. My conversations are rarely with people and my peers have always been in the form of a paper and pen. I needed something. My only comfort was music and literature. I delved deep into the literary universe and soon found myself intoxicated with the solace it gave me. Immersing myself in books and listening to other stories did help me take the weight off my mind, but these emotions, filled with inferiority, often overwhelmed my tiny brain and pushed them out in tears. It threatened to dangerously gnaw away at my confidence, which I could not afford to do at any cost. ...

Our last day at Kodaikanal

Good morning! It is Day 3! What's up? We are already preparing to leave the hotel. It is around 7:30 in the morning and we will be checking out within half an hour and embark on the last leg of our journey. I took one last stroll around the vertical garden, the room and my favorite spots. I was leaving with a heavy heart, I knew. This was our last day at this beautiful place and today will write my final memories in this place. And? We boarded the cab to spend our day seeing the last few attractions saved for the last of our trip. Our first spot was quite far away - about 35 kilometres away from our hotel. We were headed towards Poombarai, a beautiful hamlet in the outskirts of Kodaikanal. This wasn't just a spot - it was once home to the notorious Seevalaperi Pandi, a Tirunelveli goon who once was the king of headlines in the 1980s.  This hamlet had a lot in store for us - beautiful carrot and garlic plantations dotting the borders of the hills. The villages...

Love is in the air.....

Love has been eternal always. From gifting a bouquet or diamonds to a small act of kindness, love is in the air. No matter how much cruelty has seeded itself in a person, love peeks out in some form through one's actions and intentions. Love is the core feeling that radiates through every particle of your soul. A smile is the only most precious and valued ornament that won't cost you a penny. It makes you look beautiful. Why not wear it everyday?  A smile and a kind act is all that you need to show your love to the world and capture hearts wherever you go. When you have a weapon that can transform a scowl into a beautiful grin, why not make use of it? Unfortunately, most don't. Why not initiate a beautiful revolution with something as simple as a smile? Make someone's day bright with a warm smile of yours and see how good it makes you feel. So simple, right? Today is the celebration of love and kindness to spread and sprinkle everywhere you go. Don't...
