Fledgling turns 2!

Hey there! I have some amazing news to share. Fledgling is turning two today! Time does seem to fly by. My humble beginning with Fledgling, exactly two years ago, just seems like yesterday. Not too long ago, I was a perky ten-year-old who just loved writing. Here I am, two years later, now something much more. A lot of miracles have crashed upon my life in these two years. In early 2018, I finally decided to let the world see my work. I was finally ready to push and tear my cocoon open to show the world my colourful wings. A year later, I wove some of my stories together and published my first book Solitude, something I will never forget. Months later, I started writing local articles for newspapers and magazines and later tried my hand at writing for anthologies. This journey has been so exciting and memorable. Every time I look back, I find beautiful memories I will always cherish, like the night I published my first post on Fledgling. That thrill and high I get from writi

An Impressive Thriller

Title : Sins of the Father Series : Clifton Chronicles (Part 2) Author : Jeffrey Archer Genre : Crime thriller Year : 2012 Synopsis : Harry Clifton supposedly gets buried in sea as the war grows worse, leaving the Cliftons in misery and the Barringtons in glee, as his university sweetheart, a Barrington, waits for him to walk down the aisle. He sends one last letter home, before slipping into the skin of murderer Tom Bradshaw and gets whisked away to prison. Will he count the bars for the next six years or will he watch surprises unfold? Rating : ★★★★★ "Impressive work" This is my maiden attempt with Jeffrey Archer and I am absolutely hooked onto it. Reading the synopsis, one might think this is all about Harry, but the carefully woven course of events proves you wrong even before you reach halfway and the fog gradually clears to reveal who this book actually talks about. Rather than Harry, I think the other characters, especially Emma, have a distinct

Book Fair 2020 - What's new

What kind of pain would carry pleasure? Ask me, I would say it is the pain of thirst in a reader as eyes fly across piles of books. Yes, I was at my favourite place this weekend, the one every reader waits eagerly for - the 43rd Chennai Book Fair 2020! What a great way to start the year! I am a reader who rarely sticks to an author, but later last year, I fell head over heels in love with Jeffrey Archer's writing when I read his novel Sins of the Father, Part 2 of the Clifton Chronicles. I was starving and knew I wouldn't have the heart to separate. I kept my search alive and was determined to stock up for the upcoming year. My eyes scanned all stalls for interesting novels I could go home with and got my hands on everything I saw and relished it to the most. I forgot to add, today is exactly a year from my first time at the Chennai Book Fair, which is where I met Meera ma'am for the first time. Unfortunately, Meera ma'am couldn't be here this year. But,

A New Beginning

A year full of surprises and sorrow. One that closed a couple of chapters and began many more. This year has had its own share of best and worst experiences. Like many say, life is never a perfectly woven tale. I saw several people accidentally stumble into my life and do wonders. This year, meeting Meera ma'am, publishing Solitude and writing for The Hindu and Plethora were perfect accidents that rewrote my thinking and opportunities. This year has been quite a rewarding one, with achieving dreams and heights way beyond my bucket list. I had always been more of a reader than a writer in the past. I have always considered books my refuge when reality was too painful and heavy, and publishing one of my own was never in the wildest of my dreams. Thanks to Meera ma'am and 2019, I was the proud author of Solitude in less than a few weeks. Even after authoring a book and writing for magazines and newspapers this year, the words author and writer still seem foreign and new t
