42

Numbers make a vast eternal ocean that one can dive deep into, to end up spending a lifetime but still not done with these intriguing elements. Today, I came across a very interesting story associated with the seemingly ordinary number 42. Four decades ago, American author and satirist Douglas Adams set the world on a frenzy with his eccentric but interesting answer to the question penultimate - life, the universe, and everything. What do you think the answer would have been? None other than the ordinary number 42. The number 42 has ever since posed a vast opportunity for research for puzzled mathematicians, scientists and geeks alike. If Adams says the number 42 could unlock the secrets of the universe, it boils to the question - Why does specifically the number 42 hold the secret behind the universe? This still has so many netizens scratching their heads and debates without an absolute answer, even after almost two decades post his death. Many actually came up with what

Frozen in Fright

Amma, In the confines of your womb I felt safe from all danger lurking Protected from man's hunger Waiting to tear me apart ruthlessly My hope last forever naught Under the scrutiny of blood thirsty men A tingle of undying fright and trouble Under the eyes wandering over my body Sending shudders down my spine At threat the sanctity of my body I so wish I could Curl myself like a child In your womb yet again In peace, safe and sound Now can I not expect The eternal protection For the men are here too To shatter me into a million fragments A dewy blossom yearning to unfurl Its young tender petals Only to be torn and crushed later Tormented for the sin Of being born female. A tribute to #Nirbhaya  #Asifa

Me and Myself

Being myself in my own essence For the raw real me Without any labels As nature gently unravels My tender petals yearning to unfurl themselves To reveal That pure hidden me. The chill sunset breeze Tenderly caressed my cheeks Ruffled my hair playfully And dried those sorrowful tears Flowing down my cheeks Made my face break into a wide grin A bridge between my heart and my spirit A reflection of my own soul Drenched in pure bliss While the soft glimmer of dusk Cuddling me warmly Basking in the heavenly glow The beautiful golden streaks of gloaming In the crimson sky Like washes of paint On the canvas of His From the divine brushes of the Almighty While the Sun sunk down the horizon Like a drop of golden honey trickling down the edge Leaving behind a serene blanket of soft darkness For me to snuggle in Only to soar up again later As a tiny speck of light A glimmering ray of hope A deserved blessing To fix your mistakes of yesterday To put the best

To my dear sister

Sisters are always naughty and even annoying. Most of us tease our sisters and make fun of them but at the end, sisters are always the cutest sidekicks and the best crime partner. Today on my own sister's birthday, I want to show her how much her akka loves her. "My darling angel The sweetest honey in town Oozing with cute innocence With cute lips never a frown                                        With twinkling eyes of mischief And a smile with a face shy Despite our silly squabbles You are the apple of my eye On many faces is a smile At the sight of her in frolic My constant companion To my side does she stick With her innocent eyes has she Let me dive into her oceanic depth With her pure raw love has she Let me soar in the heights of joy The lovely sisterly bond we share Stays with us through thick and thin We cry and giggle together No matter we lose or win She loves me And so do I My dear sister is she Forever together will we be..&qu

Toll gate causes much chaos

The IT Corridor is always bustling with activity round the clock with hundreds of busy commuters heading to work. But here at Egattur in Navalur, it is a major setback. The Navalur Toll Gate is a small, cramped toll gate located in the OMR stretch, bearing too much of a burden especially during its peak hours. The toll gate resembles a huge stampede that seems to have no resolve.  The peak hours see the toll gate suffocating amidst hundreds of vehicles, all stuck in a long wait which usually lasts 15 minutes or so, or even worse, stretches to half an hour. Troubled residents and commuters frown at the sight of the daunting crowd they have come to witness every day. The fact that the extreme left lane of the toll gate is closed due to the lack of personnel and booths contributes to the daily chaotic jam.  “The tremendous jam blocks the way out to the residents of few apartments where more than 2000  families reside. It costs us a huge chunk of our time in the morning

Nestled in your arms...

That person whom you can lean on. That shoulder you can cry on. That friend you can hug tightly in tears. That person you can shower all your love on. That person you can share your darkest secrets with. That person whom you can always count on. Amma. From the time we were in the confines of our mothers' womb, every child has nestled cozily in the genuine warmth of their mothers' arms. The last call from your mother might have been annoying, but a mother's concern for her child's well-being is eternal, since her child is never too old for her. Moms are ever-supporting pillars. They are special angels whose aura of unconditional love and care knows no bounds and guards every child from the worst. My mom is a very special angel too. She is my moral support, best friend, angel and so much more. This is a tribute to every beautiful mom including my own, for raising their seedlings so wonderfully - "With her warm hands did she   Cuddle me in love   With h
